• powerful cosmic entity, first detected in the late 20th century via a brief, non-repeating radio pulse. it was initially dubbed frb.970707.kronos.
• kronos is thought to be a single entity of enormous godlike power. it exists primarily between dimensions and is capable of traversing the different dimensions of spacetime, as well as passing freely between universes. it is believed to be omniscient and ancient, though its exact origins (like who or what, if anything, created it) remain a mystery.
• the appearance of kronos in the late 20th century eventually led to an apocalyptic event known as the titanomachy, which took place in the mid-21st century following kronos' first contact with the sol system.

THE TITANS

• retainers of kronos, cyber-organic organisms (or parasites) that latch on to organic hosts and spread via skin-to-skin contact between the infected.
• once contact between a titan and a host has been successfully established, it quickly reproduces within the host's body, gradually mutating their biological makeup and dna. most infected humans, assuming they survive this "evolutionary" process, become one of the exalted, monstrous flesh-puppets bound to the will of kronos, puppeteered by the titans.
  • there are a select few who, when infected, did not succumb to the parasite or transform into one of the exated. these highly-evolved "entities of kronos" are known as the godhand.

VERTICES/PARABOLAS

• a vertex is a region of spacetime that has been irreparably affected by kronos' immense gravitational force. every vertex leads to a parabola, another cosmic dimension/alternate plane of spacetime/reality.
• a pocket parabola is a false dimension created by an archon of the godhand. pocket parabolas are by nature unstable and prone to collapsing.
  • council agents are especially vulnerable within pocket parabolas, often succumbing to the environment and hallucinatory effects of the dimension before they are fully cognizant of their location.
• a shifting vertex is a vertex that has changed the exit point of its "assigned" parabola. example: you, a council agent, interact with "vertex a" and enter "parabola b". when attempting to interact with "vertex a" again to return to homebase (the default plane of spacetime), you instead exit "vertex a" into "parabola c". this is called a rogue parabola.
